Not the fluffy, battery-powered novelties you'll find rattling around a motorway service station, but proper electric ones, designed and built by us at E-Stim Systems, in sunny Watford. I've been at it since 2004, which is longer than some of my customers have been legally allowed to buy the things. I Make Sex Toys is the podcast where I talk about all of it. Well, nearly all of it. This is a show about behind the scenes of a business making adult products, not a show about using them. If you came here for the racy bits, you'll leave a little disappointed and, I'm sorry to say, considerably better informed about import duty.
So what do we actually talk about? Everything from CNC lathes, 3D print farms, customs carnets, and the particular joy of shipping an entire trade stand halfway across the world and praying it turns up. The fun of dealing with customers around the world who don't want to admit they love electrocuting their bits for fun. The best part of twenty-two years running a small British manufacturer: the 3am panics, the trolls, the wins nobody sees, and the little black notebook that never leaves my side. Turns out the least sexy corner of the sex toy industry, the actual making of the thing, is the most interesting one to talk about. Other people sell them.
